This song, or rather the verse of the song was playing in my mind on repeat for a good week before C and I flew to San Francisco, and it continued to do so for at least another week after we got back. Which really isn’t a bad thing as I quite like this song, but not as much as I loved this city!

To be fair, I loved San Francisco (or at least the idea of it) even before I went to visit, I don’t know why, it just seemed like my kind of place – maybe it had something to do with it’s large Asian community or the city’s intense love of food! What ever the reason, I always felt that this may be the one city in the U.S that I could see myself ‘fitting’ into.

Spiced Salmon Kebabs

I saw this recipe in June addition of Bon Appetit. It looked quick, simple and perfect for a mid week meal – I also liked the idea of making a kebab with salmon. C and I tend to buy a large bag of frozen salmon filets from Costco, and slowly work a way through them, but usually we have them as steaks, so I thought this would be fun to try.

Declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2008, San Miguel de Allende truly has a magical feel surrounding it. As many of you know, C and I got married in Lima last March. It was an amazing wedding which we got to celebrate and share with our closest and dearest family and friends. It truly was one of the best days of our lives – and all those months of hard work and planning really paid off.

Due to our somewhat crazy international lifestyle, we had over 90 overseas guests attend our wedding! Seriously – C and I should have received commission from the Peruvian Tourism Board?!

Seed Crackers or Fröknäcke in Swedish

 I don’t know why – but to my ear everything sounds better in Swedish. Even though English is definitely my stronger language – the sound of spoken Swedish is one of the best things I know – especially if it is coming from a Skåning (someone from the south). I even prefer to read in Swedish as there is something so poetic in the way Swedish authors put their words to paper and the rhythm that they create that I don’t seem find in the English language. What I hate however is writing in Swedish…an absolute nightmare! Which is why you will never see a post in Swedish, or the fact that I only write emails and texts in English to my Swedish friends (something they find quite amusing)!

So getting back to my post – I originally made these bad boys to go with my new low carb high fat (LCHF) lifestyle that I have embarked on the last 3.5 weeks. I was going to post it in my other blog LCHF…What?! – but thought that these are soo good and so simple to make that everyone will enjoy them.
