Do you ever feel as though you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? And you feel as though you are just kicking and kicking to be able to keep your head above the water?
When I woke up on January 2nd – that is exactly how I felt. Suddenly all the excitement and distraction of Christmas and New Years were over, and I realised that in just over 2 months C and I have our wedding! I felt physically ill – there are just soo many loose ends still and so many little details that are not quite pinned down yet. Why oh Why…did we decide to have a destination wedding?!
I must have been out of my mind when we decided to have our wedding in Peru. Trying to organise a wedding in a country you do not live in, hardly speak the language, dealing with over 50 guests from overseas and having to rely on your other half to do all the communicating and negotiating is hair wrenching madness! I consider myself a rather independent person, and when I want something done, I do it – but having to rely on someone else to be the messenger – drives me up the bloody wall.
However, we only have 2 months left – or 64 days to be exact. So if I can just sort out one issue at a time, deal with one fire at the time and focus on putting one foot in front of the other, we should all hopefully get there in one piece without too many bumps along the road.
So my dear readers, I am sorry for this mini-rant and I am sorry if it is going to be rather quite here on the TTChopsticks in the following months, but as I am sure you can imagine, when I’m not at work – all my free time is going towards, organising, emailing and exercising (to keep sane!). But I hope to make it up to you soon with some fabulous travel posts! :)
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all! In the last few months, I have been seeing some real traffic on The Travelling Chopsticks – which has been so incredibly exciting and motivating for me to make this blog even better – So Thank You!!
Untill the next post!
Love, Alex

Congrats!! You’ll get through it…just don’t forget to breathe:-)
Ha ha thank Jeanette – I know I will as well, but just a lot to think about at the moment, but very excited :)
:-)
Hopefully you feel better since its now a little over a month left =)
I wish C had pointed you my way longggg ago since I planned my wedding from MD so i know the stress Luckily though I do have family there that helped out. Just keep breathing and remember that the small details don’t matter much. The important thing is to have fun and at the end of that day, you’ll be married to your best friend and starting another amazing chapter in your lives. See you guys soon!
