Right, so here is the world’s simplest pie dough recipe, and it never fails!!
There is a great chef in Sweden called Tina Nordström, she has become such a household name over the last decade, and is really known for her simple recipes and using very true Swedish ingredients. Plus she is a lot of fun to watch and she comes across incredibly amicable!
Anyway this is her recipe, that my mother swears by! I used it when I made the Salmon and Spinach Pie and it worked a treat, so I think I am converted to!
Ingredients
- 4dl all purpose flour
- 50g butter, room temperature
- 1.5 dl milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- a pinch of salt
Method
Mix together all the ingredients.
Knead until a smooth dough
Roll it out to fit your pie form and then fill it with what ever ingredients you want!

Haha it’s so true. This is so simple! I’m not a baker and I tend to get scared dealing with dough, but I’m totally bookmarking this! This is a great first step for me!
